In 2001 the MOD formally defined the word ‘veteran’ as someone who has served more than one day in the Royal Navy, Army or Royal Air Force. It is estimated that there are more than 5.2 million ‘Veterans’ in the UK Many Veterans experience a wide range of difficulties after leaving service life. Many more experience problems DURING service life. The smallest amount of support can make a huge difference to a Veteran and our focus is to provide that support as quickly as possible whether it is providing a mobility scooter for a D-Day Veteran, helping an amputee with transport facilities or providing modest treats and days out for soldiers in recovery and rehabilitation. Our Veterans serve for our freedom and our safety. It is OUR duty to support them in THEIR hour of need. Website veteranscharity.org.uk
