Come on England
I wrote a song called come on England
It has become a bit of a legend
It went straight in the charts at number two
Missing number one by just a few
It was a re-make of come on Eileen
Dexy's was the band big on the scene
My uncle was the drummer in the band
He was very talented and musically sound
We were in the studio till very late
In fact we did sixteen hours straight
Just to make sure we got it right
We would have worked through the night
My band 4-4-2 were on CD:UK
Top of the Pops and had radio airplay
The best experience I will never forget
And those celebrities the we have met
It beat the official song by the FA
We were the best for Euro 04 Hooray
England fans say it is one of the best
Now voted in the top three no less
World in Motion is not the winner
But three lions by Baddiel and Skinner
At least I have something to look back on
A hit record not everyone has had one
I've enjoyed my fifteen minutes of fame
So mush so I'll do it all again
